This dataset is not currently available for direct download from NCEI, but is available by request from the offline archive. An inventory of events is available here. An event summary file with descriptive information is included for each case study. The data files have been aggregated by event and by hour for the archive with a total data volume of approximately 20 TB.

The data files are in the native compressed file format as Time Series (TS) Archive. The number of case studies per year ranges from 1 to 33, with an average of approximately 10 per year. The period of record is from 2008 to present with additional data years planned. NEXRAD operational sites and test sites are used. It includes only the Level 1 data that has been used for algorithm development and verification by the ROC and its partners.

Greater storm coverage returns late in the work week. This dataset contains the Level-I (L1) raw radar event data recorded at Next Generation Radar (NEXRAD) sites and collected by the NOAA National Weather Service (NWS) Radar Operations Center (ROC) for specific radar case studies. Drier air works in keeping rain chances minimal through midweek. Tomorrow a few isolated showers are possible, but the coverage will be even less than today. Later this evening it will be muggy as temperatures fall through the 70s. The tides will be about two feet above normal and will run up into the dunes as well as cause beach erosion. Keep in mind the rip current risk is moderate to high at the beach and there are coastal flood advisories in place as well. Highs today will reach the low 80s along the coast to the mid-to-upper 80s west of I-95. Some rain could linger beyond sunset, mainly in Osceola and Brevard county.

There could also be occasional wind gusts near 40 mph and frequent lightning. Isolated storms will have potential to bring heavy rain at times due to the amount of moisture in the air.

The greatest coverage will be from Orlando to the southwest after 4 p.m. Scattered showers mainly west of I-4 will pick up a little more later today.Ī few showers have already popped up this afternoon, but have been light in terms of rain and isolated in coverage.Īs the day goes on a few storms will bubble up.
